Alum Service Corps St. Louis ASCs celebrated Mass and dined together at the St. Jean de Brebeuf Jesuit Community on Wise Ave, Monday, August 21, 2017.  Six of fifteen ASCs currently serve three schools in St. Louis:  De Smet Jesuit, Loyola Academy, and St. Louis University High.  The St. Louis ASC community of teachers and mentors live in community on Lawn Ave., in St. Louis.  Across the street from them lives ASC alum who are now teaching in our schools.

Nearly every Monday evening, ASCs in St. Louis, Kansas City, and Denver gather with Jesuits for community night.

The Jesuits in attendance at the St. Louis evening included Superior Jim Burshek, SJ, Chris Farrell, SJ, Joe Hill, SJ, Ralph Houlihan, SJ, Mike Marchlewski, SJ, James Page, SJ, Pat Quinn, SJ, and Bob Poirier, SJ.  The Jesuits in attendance serve in four different apostolates in the St. Louis area, and live in three different communities.

In addition, Brad Mueller, teacher at SLUH and former ASC, was in attendance, along with ASC School Coordinators Tony Plein (De Smet Jesuit), Colleen Clark (Loyola Academy), and Nick Ehlman (SLUH).  Also in attendance were UCS Provincial Assistant for Secondary and Pre-Secondary Education Geoff Miller and director of school support and director of ASC Pete Musso.

Alum Service Corps is in its 27th year.  With support of over 300 alums from our program, we are volunteers giving a year of post-college service out of gratitude for our Jesuit education.  We are mentors and teachers in six Jesuit schools in Denver, Kansas City, and St. Louis.  We adopt a simple life-style while living in community and striving to grow spiritually.
